WHAT’S IN A BOX?
A box is more than just an emptycube made of cardboard. Whilst it’s not quite Star Trek technology, it’s stilla transportation device and it needs to function effectively. It’s got to keepthe dust out and the contents in. It might need to travel halfway around theworld, getting bounced and tossed by any number of handlers, or it might needto sit in a corner for months or years on end and still be in good conditionwhen you pick it up next time. It has to be suitable to be taped, cut, folded, written on and glued. It’s got to be the big enough for the job and smallenough for the person moving it.
Next time you see ‘a box full of stuff’, have a close look. Is it packed well?Is there wasted space in it? Does it close up properly or are the contentsspilling out? You’d be amazed at how many people we see wrestling with a largebox full of heavy items or a small box that has collapsed mid-lift, spillingits contents. Often we see customers struggling to get best use out of theirstorage space because they have used a collection of odd shaped boxes, whichdon’t stack neatly. Tetris might be a classic game on the computer, but it’snot as much fun in three dimensions when you’re storing your valuedpossessions.Luckily, box selection can be made easy.
