Update: storage king never compensated or accepted responsibility for the theft. Not even a refund of the of storage a single thing there for months whilst it was empty.
DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY. I attended my storage unit today in order to empty it, only to find it had been tampered with and all valuables stolen. Reception told me they noticed it was tampered with 2 months ago and I had been left a voicemail. A new lock was put on it and I was not provided with a new key.
No such voicemail record and nothing in writing informing me of this. Due to elapsed time police have informed me I have no chance of recovering any of my valuables.
There is no CCTV available now because of elapsed time and not being informed upon the date of noticing it was tampered.
I don’t even have words to express how upset and disappointed I am by this. Your job is to keep my belongings secure, this has not been done! And who knows who else has been robbed and is waiting to find out?
I hope to be fully compensated for this outstanding negligence on behalf of Storage King and their useless staff. I am sadly not hopeful judging by how terribly this has been managed to date.

I had a great experience with Storage King Richmond. I had to move some items into storage at short notice ahead of repairs to my home and disorganised insurance company. I was very stressed and the staff were helpful and discussed my options with me to work out exactly what I needed.
I had organised for removalists and wasn’t going to be able to accompany them and the staff went above and beyond to help me organise things remotely and showed the removalists to the unit in my absence.
The payment system is really easy and when it came time to take me stuff out and close the unit they were helpful once again…helping me work out the logistics.
So simple to set up and close, made a stressful time a lot easier for me.
Location is great and the facility is very tidy.
Would use again (although I hope I won’t have to go through and insurance ordeal again!!!)

The minimum period of storage is one month. We ended the agreement early. When we sought to finalise the booking, we were asked to pay a penalty on top of the full month that we had already paid. This seems highly unusual in circumstances where we are not being refunded for the duration of storage not used. I suggest not asking customers for penalty fees unless they are being refunded pro rata for time not used.

Glenn and the team are very friendly, going out of their way to help and provide advice. The prices are reasonable and there is a wide variety of storage options. Only two things to note - minimum rental period is one month so if you’re storing short term you may end up paying for time you won’t use; and there is no access on Sundays, only during extended business hours Monday to Saturday.
