I have had significant problems, particularly on the weekends with entry to the facility. I have had issues with my code not working on a weekend. If I returned on the following Monday, the code was reset. But this was after the time I wanted to gain entry.
In December 2023, I rented a truck to collect items from storage to deliver to a container, leaving on the Monday. I was locked out of the facility, and rang the emergency number. There was no response. I tried a different emergency number, advertised at the office door, and had a response from a security agency who advised me that that company had not been working with Storage King for over a year.
On the following Monday, around 11.30am, I returned to the office, and it was locked. The sign said to ring the emergency mobile number on the door. I was furious, as this was the same emergency mobile number I called over the weekend. Each time I have called that mobile number on the weekends, there has been no response and no return call after my voicemail messages.
On this particular Monday morning, when I had once again, been locked out, I phoned the number on the office door and left a very angry message. Within 10-15 minutes, the door was opened by the manager, who had been inside the building. He told me that the mobile phone he had with him was the number I had called. I was furious.
To make matters worse, he blatantly lied to me, saying that I was the only person ever to have that problem with the entry code. I have actually spoken with several other renters who have been there for a long time; They had told me that it had happened to them.
To compound my anger and frustration, that same Monday evening, I received an email from the manager at Storage King, advising that my rent had suddenly been increased by $70 per month.
My first thought was that my complaints were directly related to the increase of my rental, as some form of punishment.
It seems to me that, in my experience of the African renters I knew, about 90% had left in the past two years. Read between the lines; what does this indicate about how these clients have been treated whilst under the management of this manager?
I have now left the premises, and feel that every client should be treated with respect. In over six years, I have never been late with rental payments. I have been a good and respectful client to Storage King. I do not believe that I have received the respect I deserved.

I was very stressed when I walked into the admin building and it didn’t help that I was wet from the unexpected rain that day.
The staff at the reception was very polite and very helpful. After listening to what I was after, she was able to show me what was available, the pricing of each and explained the promotion that’s on.
I took a unit that same day.

I was exhausted, as I was clearing out the rented unit I lived in. I loaded my car up with the final things I needed but no room to take it all in my car. It was getting very late and I had to drive to Regional SA to my new residence. So I asked the manager of Storage King at Woodville Nth, Adam Hubbard, was there a storage unit available to store my remaining things in until I could get back to Adelaide again. He said there was and we discussed the situation, Adam was very helpful and explained everything about the storage. The price was right and he was there to ease my mind about my things. I would definitely go to Adam at Storage King at Woodville Nth again if I need to store my things. With my mind at ease I was able to drive stress free to my new residence 100kms away.
